HOUSEPARENT
WORK STATUS: Full-Time, LIVE-IN
HOURS: Sat. 4pm – Wed. 1pm OR Wed. 9am - Sat. 5pm
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise the conduct of our youth; see that they adhere to the schedules and rules, and insure that they remain as a group under supervision
- Implement and carry out cottage rules, schedules, and routines; know the whereabouts of each resident at all times
- Insure that our residents complete their personal hygiene and wake up/go to bed on time
- See that residents attend school, work training, and jobs as scheduled; serve as a liaison between school, places of employment, and The Settlement Home
- Plan, implement, supervise, and teach leisure, recreational, and enrichment activities, in order that residents can seek and obtain healthy recreational/leisure outlets
- Insure documentation of cottage life, incidents, daily behavior, medical needs, treatment observations, and considerations, etc.
- Assist in treatment plans and goals for each resident
- Develop and utilize one to one counseling skills, group counseling skills, and family counseling skills
- Learn and utilize the Teaching Family Homes model of interactions with youth and be able to effectively implement role plays, positive consequences, corrective teaching and target goals
- Attend staff meetings, team meetings, and all staff trainings
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 21 years old
- Bachelor’s degree in the field of human services, behavioral sciences, or a related field; or equivalent experience in a related field
- Possess good character and act as a role model for children and their families
- Demonstrate sensitivity toward children and be able to understand dynamics of individual and group behavior
- Have the capacity to implement treatment plans for residents and develop appropriate behavior management skills to carry out these plans
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record (no more than 3 violations in a 3 year period)
- No past history of DWI or DUI
- Physical capability to complete Restraint Training and exhibit skills in safely administering restraints
- Good vision, hearing, and mobility essential to provide effective direct youth care management of emotionally troubled children

RELIEF YOUTH CARE COUNSELOR
WORK STATUS: Part-Time OR Full-Time
HOURS: On an as needed basis (Full-Time is guaranteed at least 30 hrs/week)
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise the conduct of our youth. See that they adhere to the schedules and rules, and insure that they remain as a group under supervision
- Implement and carry out cottage rules, schedules, and routines. Know the whereabouts of each resident at all times
- Insure that our residents complete their personal hygiene, attend school or appointments, and go to bed on time
- Plan, implement, supervise, and teach leisure, recreational, and enrichment activities, in order that residents can seek and obtain healthy recreational/leisure outlets
- Insure documentation of cottage life, incidents, daily behavior, medical needs, treatment observations, and considerations, etc

AWAKE NIGHT YOUTH CARE COUNSELOR
WORK STATUS: Full-Time
HOURS: 11pm - 9am (30 or 40 hours per week)
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise the conduct of our youth; see that they adhere to the schedules and rules, and insure that they remain as a group under supervision
- Implement and carry out cottage rules, schedules, and routines; know the whereabouts of each resident at all times
- Make frequent rounds of buildings and campus to maintain safety of residents and staff
- Insure that residents go to bed on time at night and awake on time in the morning
- Responsible for cottage and campus cleanliness
- Insure documentation of cottage life, incidents, daily behavior, medical needs, treatment observations, and considerations, etc.
- Comlete nightly administrative tasks such as filing, copying, sorting etc.
- Attend team meetings and maintain 50 hours of training per year
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 21 years old
- Bachelor’s degree and/or residential treatment experience preferred
- Possess good character and act as a role model for children and their families
- Demonstrate sensitivity toward children and be able to understand dynamics of individual and group behavior
