Why Not You? Why Not Adopt Through Foster Care?

Adoption event puts the spotlight on kids awaiting adoption

The Adoption Collaborative of Central Texas presents a special event on Thursday February 26, 2015.  We invite anyone who is currently a verified foster/adoptive parent and prospective foster/adoptive families too.  There will be an opportunity to meet and talk with CPS caseworkers about the children who are waiting for foster or adoptive homes.  You can also talk with several child placing agencies about training and licensing.  There are currently almost 700 children in the Central Texas area waiting for their forever families.  Across the state, more than 6200 children are waiting.

“Children right here in Central Texas are in need of forever families at any given time, and most people don’t realize it costs little to nothing and is actually easier to adopt from foster care than if you were to adopt internationally.”  Executive Director Kori Gough of Partnerships for Children, the event’s sponsoring agency.
