A Tasty Fundraiser

Fresh Chef Society is an awesome organization that is bringing cooking skills and education to children in foster care. Their mission is to empower youth transitioning out of foster care with the skills necessary to take charge of their eating lifestyle and knowledge of the culinary arts through meaningful educational experiences with community chefs and restaurants.

This great group of people have been working with the young ladies in our Transitional Living Program for many months. Our girls not only learn about food, they have a fantastic time doing it!

Now, you can help support their work. Fresh Chef Society is hosting Fresh Fest this Saturday, March 2 at 12th Street Soular Food Garden and Event Venue from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

At Fresh Fest, enjoy a day of music and springtime fun with face-painting, cotton candy and a bouncy house for all ages. Patrons will learn how to make a new dish, grow veggies and compost household scraps at cooking, gardening and composting demonstrations scheduled throughout the day.

While this event is free, participants are encouraged to sponsor a foster youth for only $10. This contribution will cover a meal from a food truck, drinks throughout the day and produce from the farm stand! They are also looking for sponsors.
