Ways To Give
As you can imagine, having teenagers on our campus 24 hours a day means that we go through supplies and items very quickly. We’ve put together a wish list of items we need to help our campus run smoothly and our children cope with their past trauma.
One-Time or Monthly Gift
We provide flexible giving options for donors to support The Settlement Home for Children. You can schedule a recurring monthly donation or make a one-time gift.
Garage & Estate Sale
Each year, more than 10,000 shoppers flock to The Settlement Home Garage & Estate Sale at Palmer Events Center (900 Barton Springs Road) to get their hands on unique items and bargain priced merchandise. Shoppers browse in our 21 different “departments,” such as clothing, shoes, jewelry, toys, furniture, books, linen, art, holiday items and so much more. All of the proceeds go to The Settlement Home for Children. Save the date for the 44th Annual Garage & Estate Sale!
The Preview Party will take place Wednesday, October 30, 2019. The Sale will take place Friday through Sunday, November 1 through 3, 2019.
Gift and Memorial
There are many ways to honor a loved one, but what better way than a gift that will aid in the healing of the children at The Settlement Home?
In showing her genuine love and deep commitment to the children of The Home, Mildred Gregg Wendlandt gave a $500,000 bequest to The Home from her estate. In an effort to recognize her generosity of spirit and commitment to our children, The Mildred Gregg Wendlandt Legacy Society was established in 2004. By remembering The Settlement Home in your estate plans, you too will become a member of our Legacy Society.
The Clothes Closet is an on-campus “boutique” run by Settlement Club members. Our girls can shop for clothing, shoes and other items they need for school, work and activities. Many times, a child comes to The Settlement Home with very few clothing options or there is a delay in receiving her belongings.
