An overcast, chilly Saturday didn’t damper the enthusiasm at Clear Your Clutter Day (CYCD)!
Hosted by the National Association of Professional Organizers – Austin Chapter, CYCD has grown in popularity. Along with several other non-profits, The Settlement Home was thrilled to be a part of this year’s event. We gathered up a group of Club members and volunteers, zipped up our jackets and collected a huge amount of donated items from the community. The flow of cars coming through the collection site remained steady all day. So steady, that we actually filled up our UHaul and had to make a quick decision to rent another one. We also filled our cars with items. These items will be organized, priced and boxed, then sold at our Charity Garage & Estate Sale in November.
We were grateful to have new energy in our Community Youth Council kids, as we unloaded all of our items into our warehouse. Items we can’t sell in our Charity Garage & Estate Sale will be donated to The Salvation Army.
Thanks to everyone who helped us spread the word about this event, donated items or helped us collect items. It was a fulfilling day!
