Going Green

Each week, we look forward to our delivery of organic produce from Johnson’s Backyard Garden. The beautiful produce is generously donated to us through JBG and its members.

From beets to salad greens, carrots to oranges, the weekly box is filled with tasty, seasonal produce. The produce goes to our cottages, where it is used to make healthy dinners for our girls. This partnership is also a learning experience, because it introduces the girls to vegetables that they might not have heard of or tasted. The girls take part in new experiences and learn about the process of growing vegetables. Staff members teach them how to prepare and use the ingredients to make nutritious and tasty meals, such as beet fries, fennel salad and kohlrabi mashed potatoes.
