We’re venturing out this weekend in search of great items for our Charity Garage Sale. We’ll be in Lakeway tomorrow, Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. collecting items from the community. Drop off your items or just stop by to say hello! We’ll be in the parking lot of the Papa Murphy’s at Lohman’s Crossing and 620 (in the Randall’s shopping center.)

Items we accept: NEW or GENTLY USED clothing, shoes, purses, belts, books, DVDs, electronics, sporting goods, art, furniture, holiday decoration, linens, kitchen items and small appliances, toys, children’s items, lamps, organizing supplies, tools and much more!

PLEASE NO: hazardous materials, broken or damaged items, stained items, mattresses or futons, particle board furniture, broken lawn equipment, large appliances, encyclopedias or text books.

We are teaming up with the wonderful members of Lakeway Women in Network (LWIN) and the Austin Angels for this donation drive. These hard working women are volunteering their time to collect items for our Charity Garage Sale. Last year’s sale raised $625,000 for The Settlement Home. This money is critical in providing opportunities and programs for the children who live at The Home.

The Settlement Home is a residential facility for children in the foster care system. We have a Residential Treatment Center, Group Home Program, Transitional Living Program, Foster & Adoption Program and an on-campus charter school. While we receive some funding from the state, we have to raise money to fill in the gaps. That’s where you and your great donations come in!
