Ready to Run

Incorporating health and fitness into your life isn’t always easy, but it is worth it. At The Settlement Home we want to help our kids create healthy habits and learn to enjoy a life of wellness.

One of the programs we established was our Run Club. The purpose of the Run Club is to incorporate regular physical activity for our girls, teach them healthy habits, provide an outlet for stress management and encourage them to set fitness goals.

The Run Club meets weekly for practice at the track located on our campus. The group selects 5K races in the community and participates together as group. In the past, the Run Club has participated in the CASA Superheroes 5K, the Jingle Bell Run and many others.

We hope 2013 will be a year of fitness and health for our girls, staff and friends. So while, it may be chilly out, we are kicking off the year on the right foot and starting our Run Club workouts tonight!

Here’s a few pictures from one of our favorite races last year.
